Side Easel Merry Christmas Poinsettia - Our Hearts Grow Tender

Yogi here today with a side easel card. I just got the newest batch of Xmas stamp sets from Suzanne. They are all so gorgeous, I had a hard time deciding which stamps to use first. BIG GRIN. I'm using the "Merry Christmas Poinsettia" set on the outside and the "Our Hearts Grow Tender..." quote set on the inside.

I also had a bunch of quilled flowers & leaves made during recent quilling sessions with friends, so thought I'd use them too... If you don't quill, just use some really nice ready made or hand made flowers.

Scored and folded my cream toned cardstock to create the side easel card (closed 6"w x 5"h). Cut a piece of Recollections decorative gold printed Kraft cardstock and adhered to front. Adhered a piece of pink/purple variegated Sari ribbon.

Stamped the poinsettia (
"Merry Christmas Poinsettia") using Versamark on 90# CP watercolor paper, smooth side, and embossing with white embossing powder. Misted the paper and sprinkled Color Burst (Merlot, Alizarin Crimson) and misted a bit more. Dried. Painted in the negative spaces of the flourishes using QoR gold paint. Trimmed down and edged with a Krylon gold leafing pen. Layered on to a pink cardstock and cut a 1/8" border around the edges using a layering ruler. Adhered to card front.

Added the pearl flourishes. Stamped the sentiment (
"Merry Christmas Poinsettia") using Versafine Black Onyx, clear embossed on white cardstock. Trimmed down and sponged with a dirty pink sponge. Adhered to card front.

On the floor: adhered my various quilled elements. The flowers were made from gold edged encyclopedia pages. Adhered the Sari bow using a glue gun.

Stamped the quote (
"Our Hearts Grow Tender...") on to tissue paper using the black and clear embossed. Used a wet paintbrush and moistened around the quote and then gentle tore around it. Adhered to floor using a glue stick. Adhered the author separately (not enough room...)
