The 9 Days of Christmas - Day 2 - Holly

Welcome to Quietfire Design's 9 Days of Christmas - Day 2!

If you've been following along, you'll know we have a wonderful way to share these new stamps with you during this event.
If you are a subscriber to Scrapbooking.com you will have seen Judi Kauffman's Holiday Headstart article published Sept 1, 2013. In that article each designer created three cards of increasing complexity. We will be continuing that theme for all 9 days!

Each designer has created
  1. One "quick and easy" card - in a style you can make multiples of, but nice enough to send out to your friends.  Basically; cardstock, stamp, patterned paper.
  2. One "a little more" card - the same card as the "quick and easy", but adding some embellishment or more complex.  This one would take a bit more time or cost a bit more to make.
  3. One "over the top" card  - Enough said!  This would be an heirloom card, something you'd keep, frame, display every year - perhaps something with a removable ornament. For hand delivery or shipped in a box.

The new stamps may be found
in the New Stamps department
by clicking
here.

Holly is one of our artist's featured in the Scrapbooking.com article, so to see all three of her cards, you will have to pop over there, but she is sharing one of her cards here.

Hi Everyone. This is card #2 and goes together rather quickly too.  After adhering two strips of designer paper, I added white ribbon across the seam where they meet. The sentiment was stamped then die-cut into a circle using Spellbinders Basic Circles then adhered to a mat cut using a Spellbinders Picot Edge Circle die. This was placed over the strips and flat-backed pearls were added.

The cute little holly flourish was added to one corner and 3 red berries were stamped with a dot punched from craft foam, using Ranger Distress Inks.

I hope you are enjoying this 9 Days of Christmas presentation, and please remember to leave a comment to be eligible for a daily prize drawing, and to go over to Scrapbooking.com.
Thanks for looking!

I love the little flourish in the right hand corner - first you look at the focus on the words, then you take in that little extra! Well done!
