Love Does Not Consist of Gazing At Each Other Card

Hello Everyone, Terre here with a quick and easy card using Quietfire Design stamps. I don't know about you but between the holidays and fighting a horrible cold, I needed to find a simple solution to a beautiful card.... So using "Love Does Not Consist of Gazing At Each Other" stamp and Spellbinders 3D Embossing Folder and Label Four as it matches this folder, I created a beautiful card.

Using my Tsukineko VersaFine Olympia Green, VersaMagic Spring Peony, Pretty Petunia and Concord Grape ink I blended the colors over the embossed areas then added DecoArts Metallic Lustre Champaigne Ice to high lite the florals.

Thanks for stopping by my post today and I wish you all a Happy New Years, Crafty Smiles, Terre

Fresh for the New Year

Hi Everyone it's Teresa today and I am sharing a Friendship
card that I did to finish out the New Year.  It has been a wonderful
year from me and this week gives me the chance to look back
and appreciate all that I did and good things that happened for the
past year--- whether it be new friendships, family or an abundance
of great memories! And now--- we get to look forward to a creative
and prosperous New Year for 2014!

So my card today was made for a very special friend that I have
a had for a very, very long time.  I wanted to give her something really
fancy and feminine so I used my favorite Gentle Thoughts stamp #5958
and some of my favorite Spellbinders dies that you can get from
Quietfire's online store.  I used Mad Tea Party paper by
Marion Smith for the base and a mix of pink and green patterned
papers and card stock to cut out my dies and the leaves and flowers.

The Spellbinders Gold Majesty Circles die had the perfect opening
to stamp the friendship sentiment in the center with dark green ink
and emboss it with clear embossing powder.

To make the flowers I cut layers of petals from
the SB Rose Creation Die set and scrunched them and curled
them and then glued them on top of each other.  The leaves
are from the Foliage die set and I also curled them just a little.
The other tiny foliage die is a fun one to fill in for flowers
called Corner Sprigs.  After I got my arrangement the way
I wanted it, I glued it down with lots of foam dots and glue dots to
really secure it.  I added a pretty white bow and some chunky glitter
with clear adhesive all around the tops of the flowers. To finish
it i added some tiny pink rhinestones just to make glisten
a little bit more.  I hope that she likes it.. it was really fun to make.

Here is a photo of the stamp set for you to see:

We all hope your Holiday was really special and we
look forward to sharing lots of great Quietfire Design
inspiration with all of you in 2014!

eCut Glitter Thanks Cards

Yogi here and it's just 2 days away from "Christmas". I'm sure that with some of the gifts/cards you'll be receiving, you'll need to send a thank you note.

Here are a couple variations using glitter and your electronic cutter.

Using eCut files that Suzanne created and can be found on the Silhouette OnLine store. Holly Flourish, & Hearts Spray

For the flourish card I applied a wide piece of Sookwang tape on my white cardstock. Placed it on my Silhouette cutting mat, positioned my design in the appropriate place and cut the design using a #2 blade depth. This only cut through the release paper.

I removed the release paper from the green areas and sprinkled with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Sweet Basil", burnished well and cleaned off the excess, first by tapping onto a sheet of paper and then by wiping with a damp paper towel.

Removed the rest of the release paper and sprinkled with "Warm Highlights", burnished well and repeated the cleaning process.

Stamped the sentiment "Thank you" with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. PS careful, the Sookwang tape is not heat stable, so you have to be careful and keep moving your heat gun, so as not to generate a bunch of heat in one spot.

For the heart spray card, I cut out the design from white cardstock.

Stamped the sentiment "Thanks" with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

Applied a wide piece of Sookwang tape to a second piece of white cardstock, 1/4" larger on all sides than my eCut piece. Removed the release paper and adhered my eCut piece. Sprinkled with the micro fine glitter "Regal Red", burnished and cleaned off the excess.

Adhered to the front of my off scored side folded card.

Note: I use 8.5" x 11"w cardstock, trim the 8.5" to 5"h, score the 11"w at the 4" mark, giving you a back piece 7"w.

Love Where You're At - Guest Designer Judy Hayes

Hello everyone! Judy Hayes here, back with a card to share this time.

Today, I chose an inspirational verse,Love where youre at, for this card. I really like this verse. It could be used for a birthday card, encouragement or even congratulations on a milestone in oneslife. The huge popularity of black board lookinspired me to try the verse in white on black card stock. I like the black board look yet chose not to add dusty white around the edges, just a few specks of stray embossing powder!
Here’s how to make it:
  • Start with a 4 1⁄4 x 6ʺ white card. Cut 4 1⁄8 x 5 7⁄8ʺ piece of black cardstock. Emboss with Spellbinders Cane Weave 3D folder using Grand Calibur machine. Fasten to card front.
  • Cut and emboss white card stock with Spellbinders Labels Thirty-One #6 (#1 being the smallest). Use foam applicator to apply Distress Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain inks along the edges. The center wont show so theres no need to ink it. Fasten to card.
  • Cut white card stock with Spellbinders Nobel Rectangle #5 & 6 nested together. Use low tack tape to keep dies in place when cutting. After cutting, keep cardstock and dies in place. Then align Nobel Rectangle #4 with 5 and 6 and emboss with all in place. This adds the pattern of Nobel Rectangle #4 without cutting the edge. Apply Spun Sugar and then Victorian Velvet inks with foam applicator. Again the center wont show so theres no need to put any ink there.
  • Stamp verse with Versamark ink on black cardstock and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Center Labels Twenty-Nine #4 over verse and hold in place with low tack tape. Cut out using Grand Calibur® machine. Use 3D foam squares to fasten verse to pink rectangle leaving space along bottom of label for seam binding to fit under label.

  • Cut and emboss Nobel Rectangle # 2 from white card stock. Apply Victorian Velvet ink. Cut in half. Fasten each half to ends of verse label. Fasten small white brads at each end. Use adhesive to fasten all to card front.
  • Apply small amount of Spun Sugar ink to white seam binding by pressing ink pad direct to it. Crumple ribbon and repeat with ink pad. Mist with water. Wad ribbon into ball and roll in hands to disperse ink. This also gives the seam binding the nice crumpled texture. Dry with heat tool. Wrap seam binding around card sliding it under the label and tie in loose bow. Trim ends.

Thanks for visiting! I hope Ive inspired you in some way with this card.

Small Packages Tied Up With Ribbon!

Good morning!  Sherry here again this week and I have a couple of things to share today.  Over the last week, I’ve been working on some mixed media pieces using the Spellbinders Media Mixage line.  I shared some on my blog the other day, but I wanted to share one here with you today!

CoralBezel

I used the Spellbinders™ Media Mixage™, Rectangles Two for this piece, along with UTEE and lots of beads.  The UTEE and coral additive made unique designs within the bezel.

CoralBezel CloseUP

I’m planning on giving these pieces as Christmas gifts to some members of my family, and while I’m always hoarding little boxes, I’m afraid that I might not have enough on hand.  I decided that to solve my problem of “not enough little boxes” I would make my own gift boxes.

PizzaGiftBox

The template and tutorial for this mini pizza box can be found here on Splitcoaststampers.  I use this template as the basis for the box, but I do like to add a band that goes around the box to hold it closed.  A strip of white paper was cut and formed loosely around the box, basically to get the folds.  Once I have the folds marked I scored them so that the band will bend easily.

PizzaGiftBox BandOff

The small snowflake from Those We Love Are the Snowflakes was stamped randomly around the box (before it was glued together) in white.  The sentiment on the tag is from Christmas is the Day was stamped in sepia and then die cut/embossed, and layered using Spellbinders Ovals.

The box is the perfect size to hold small gifts.

Oh and by the way, the ribbon was dyed with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.

That’s it for me today!  If you need any small gift boxes, I hope you give these a try!
